it’s a HOLIDAY miracle:

THREE fun CONCEPTS using ONE simple set

It was the usual problem: we had a limited budget but the growth team wanted multiple concepts that checked all their buckets:

  • “Must scream Christmas”

  • Feature a variety of toys and playtime moments

  • Very little story, but still BARK

Our solution was to get back to basics with two song parodies (carefully selected from the few options that are royalty-free) and a bold PSA.

Jingle barks instead of bells

Instead of dashing through the snow, I decided the pups would be barking all the way. It’s the fun, frantic energy people associate with a #BarkBoxDay arrival, plus it gives us license to repeat our brand name again and again.

AN ANTI-SANTA PSA

Humans may be stuck with the Santa racket, but dogs have a better option. I used this sassy opener to segue into a rant that perfectly sets up how a BarkBox subscription works.

The twelve plays of Christmas

It’s so much better than the version where you get tons of birds! Instead of geese a-laying or swans a-swimming, we use this opportunity to list as many BARK toys as possible.
